- Relevant medical information including medication, health problems, symptoms, and concerns along with treatment information.
- Pictures taken for assessment or comparison purposes (not used in marketing without consent).
- Social media account information, occasionally as part of your profile (no personal data collected via social media).
2. Collection and Purpose
I collect and process your data to ensure the provision of high-quality service, care, and treatment, as well as to comply with insurance requirements. Information is provided directly by you or a parent/guardian (for clients under 16) and is used for communication, appointment reminders, progress updates, relevant referrals, and marketing information.
You can opt-out of email or text reminders and marketing at any time. Your provided information, along with treatment details, is treated as confidential.
3. Lawful Bases for Processing
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases for processing information are:
a) Your consent (which can be withdrawn at any time). b) Legal obligation.
4. Storage and Security
Your information is securely stored, with devices locked using passcodes, and paper records in locked filing boxes. In the event of a data breach, you will be notified promptly.
Information is retained for at least 7 years post-treatment or, in the case of a minor, 7 years after they turn 18. Secure methods are used for information disposal.
5. Persons Under 16 Years Old
Data collected for those under 16 is within the same categories as for adults. Parental or guardian consent is required for Bowen therapy treatment, and their presence is mandatory during treatment.
